INTENSE WEEK

I can’t believe how fast the time passed… I will finish my course in 2 weeks!
And this week was the last room number ten’s week. Marie left the residence today in the morning… Snif! Now I am alone with my computer and heater… but fortunately there are a lot of people in the residence. And Maida & Sergio and Cata Gonzalez are here… Really, I am not alone.

No puedo creer lo rápido que pasó el tiempo… Voy a terminar mi curso en 2 semanas!
Y esta semana fue la última de la pieza número 10. La Marie se fue hoy en la mañana de la residencia… Snif! Ahora estoy sola con mi computador y estufa… pero afortunadamente hay un montón de gente en la residencia. Y la Maida & Sergio y la Cata González están acá… En verdad, no estoy sola.

During these months we were like sisters, or maybe grandma (I am 28 years-old) and granddaughter (she is 18 years-old)… So, the last days we spent a lot of time together. Of course go to school and share in the residence, but other nice activities too.

Durante estos meses fuimos como hermanas, o quizás abuela (yo tengo 28 años) y nieta (ella tiene 18 años)… así es que los últimos días estuvimos mucho tiempo juntas. Por supuesto ir a la escuela y compartir en la residencia, pero también otras simpáticas actividades.

At Monday’s night she cooked for all residence students. We ate macaroni cheese… mmmmmmmmmmm… delicious. And then drank a sweet Malibu with juice. Cheers! Or sante!

El lunes en la noche ella cocinó para todos los estudiantes en la residencia. Comimos macaroni con queso… mmmmmmmmmmm…. Delicioso. Y después tomamos un dulce malibú con jugo. Salud! O Santé!

On Tuesday, before school, went to the center to shop some things and print several pictures. Then we had lunch in front of the school in the food court. After school we went to Sydney Tower with Vanessa and Vincent. It is a huge tower where you can see an amazing sight of Sydney. And the floor moves in circle, so in one and a half hour you see all places in city. GREAT!

El martes, antes de la escuela, fuimos al centro a comprar algunas cosas y revelar varias fotos. Luego almorzamos al frente de la escuela en el patio de comidas. Después de clases fuimos a la Torre de Sydney con Vanesa y Vincent. Es una torre enorme donde puedes ver una preciosa vista de Sydney. Y el suelo se mueve en círculo, así es que en una hora y media ves toda la ciudad. GENIAL!

And Wednesday we had a full day. Lessons in the morning, had lunch, washed the clothes, she prepared her baggage, the last conversations and of course, the gifts moment. It was a very touching moment, really special. She gave me a photo frame. Now a picture of us shares the window with yours pictures.

El miércoles tuvimos un día intenso. Clases en la mañana, almorzamos, lavamos ropa, preparó su maleta, las últimas conversaciones y por supuesto, el momento de los regalos. Fue un momento muy emocionante, super especial. Me regaló un marco de fotos. Ahora nuestra foto juntas comparte la ventana con sus fotos.

And later the night began! First, a big group went to a Belgium restaurant. The service was a little slow, but we enjoyed an excellent food. A typical dish is the mussels, I didn’t choose it, but I tried and it was so good. Only look the pictures and the happy face of people.
And guess where we finished… of course, Wednesday night, SIDE BAR!

Y más tarde empezó la noche! Primero, un grupo gigante fuimos a un restaurant Belga. El servicio un poco lento, pero disfrutamos de rica comida. El plato típico con los mejillones (alguien me puede decir cual es el nombre de este marisco en Chile? Son las ostras?, no cacho nada de mariscos…), yo elegí otra cosa, pero los probé y estaban muy ricos. Sólo miren las fotos y la cara de felicidad de todos.
Y adivinen donde terminamos… por supuesto, miércoles en la noche, SIDE BAR!

The night ends and we finished with the habitually sentence: “good night Marie, good night Maria”.

La noche llegó a su fin y terminamos con la habitual oración: “buenas noches Marie, buenas noches Maria”.

Today in the morning I went with Marie to the Hotel where her brother and father were waiting for her. So strange! How I saw a lot of pictures of them I felt how I met their.
And finally “goodbye” or better “see you”. We are sure that we will see again, at least once in Chile and another time in Belgium.

Hoy en la mañana fuimos al Hotel donde la estaban esperando su papá y su hermano. Muy raro! Como había visto miles de fotos de ellos sentí como que los conociera de antes. Y finalmente “adiós” o mejor “nos vemos”. Las 2 estamos seguras que nos vamos a ver de nuevo, al menos una vez en Chile y otra en Bélgica.

FISH MARKET - EATING AGAIN!

Sorry, but we don’t stop to eat!
On Saturday with Marie and Alex went to Fish Market and we enjoyed great sea food. Moreover, the place is beautiful and the weather was excellent! Perfect mix!!!

Lo siento, pero no paramos de comer!
El sábado fuimos con Marie y Alex a Fish Market y disfrutamos una exquisita comida marina. Más encima, el lugar es precioso y el clima estaba excelente! Mezcla perfecta!!!

To go this place we walked around China Town and take a tram, that is a kind of bus, but it has a rail. Nice transportation system.

Para llegar caminamos por China Town y tomamos un tram (especie de trolley), es un tipo de bus, pero tiene riel. Agradable sistema de transporte.

This day was the “red day” too. Marie and I painted red our nails and wore red sweaters. I know, crazy room number 10…

Ese día fue además el “día rojo”. Con la Marie nos pintamos las uñas rojas y nos pusimos sweaters rojos. Ya sé, la loca pieza número 10…

THE BEST COOK!

Do you know who the best cook in Sydney is?
She is from Taiwan and her name is Veronica. She prepared a delicious dinner the last Thursday, due to it was the last Raul’s night in Sydney.

Sabes quién es la mejor cocinera de Sydney?
Ella es Taiwanesa y se llama Verónica. El jueves pasado preparó una comida exquisita, debido a que era la última noche de Raúl en Sydney.

She was cooking all the afternoon and in only five minutes we ate everything!!!
Definitively, you can’t compare this wonderful and healthy food with the sometimes “army food” that we eat in the residence… imagine that several times the food had been different kinds of bread (?)

Estuvo cocinando toda la tarde y en 5 minutos nos comimos todo!!!
Definitivamente no se puede comparar esa exquisita y saludable comida con la “comida de militar” que a veces nos dan en la residencia… imagínense que varias veces la comida ha sido diferentes tipos de pan (?)

BEFORE SIDE BAR

One week ago arrived a big group of new people, from different countries, so the school has a lot of students again and our residence too. I will introduce some of their later.

On Wednesday we had a so popular party, before to go to Side Bar. There were at least 40 people, including Maida & Sergio. They are Aussies now, because they already know the "Sydney night". Enjoy the pictures!

Una semana atrás llegó un grupo grande de gente nueva, de diferentes países, así es que la escuela tiene hartos estudiantes de nuevo y nuestra residencia también. Después se los presentaré.

El miércoles tuvimos una fiesta muy popular, antes de ir al Side Bar. Éramos al menos 40 personas, incluidos la Maida & Sergio. Ahora son Australianos, porque ya conocen la "Noches en Sydney". Disfruten las fotos!

WELCOME TO TARONGA ZOO

The last Sunday we went to Taronga Zoo. We were a strange mix, Sergio and Maida (Chilean friends who arrived 2 weeks ago), Alex (from Spain), Marie and me. It was so funny, because we spoke Spanglish.

El domingo pasado fuimos a Taronga Zoo. Éramos una mezcla extraña, Sergio y la Maida (mis amigos chilenos que llegaron la semana pasada), Alex (español), la Marie y yo. Estuvo super divertido, porque hablamos una mezcla de español e inglés.

Fortunately we were a big group, because room number 10 had technical problems. Yea, Marie and I had low battery in our cameras, so I have only pictures for the first time. Por suerte éramos un grupo grande, porque la pieza número 10 tuvo problemas técnicos. Sí, la Marie y yo teníamos nuestras cámaras sin batería, así es que solo tengo fotos de la primera parte. Finally I met kangaroos!!! Look at me with this cute animal, even you can see a baby inside the marsupium. They are really beautiful and agile, jump so fast!

Finalmente conocí canguros!!! Mírenme con ese tierno animal, incluso pueden ver la guagua dentro de la marsupia. Son realmente precioso y ágiles, saltan muy rápido!

We walked all the afternoon, looking every animal. The favourite to Sergio were the reptiles. In the Maida and Sergio blog you can look some examples that I had never seen before, like star turtle and a lot of snakes.
But look, what are these exotic animals? I am sure that you are afraid of it!!!

Caminamos toda la tarde, mirando cada animal. Los favoritos de Sergio fueron los reptiles. En el blog de la Maida y Sergio pueden ver algunos ejemplos de algunos que yo nunca había visto, como tortugas estrella y miles de serpientes.
Pero miren, qué son esos animales exóticos? Estoy segura que están asustados!!!

RAUL´S BBQ

Raul is a friend who comes from Argentina-Brazil-Mexico (he was born in Argentina, grow up in Brazil and now live in Mexico). This is his last week, so he decided to invite us to his residence the last Saturday, because he wanted to prepare a special dinner. I thought that he will prepare something like pasta… But no! He did a barbecue. You can’t imagine how delicious it was!!! The best meat that I have eaten in Australia!!! Thanks Raul, it was an AMAZING barbecue!!!

Raúl es un amigo de Argentina-Brasil-Méjico (nació en Argentina, creció en Brasil y ahora vive en Méjico). Esta es su última, así es que decidió invitarnos a su residencia el sábado pasado, porque quería preparar una comida especial. Yo pensaba que iba a preparar algo como pasta… Pero no! Hizo un asado. No se pueden imaginar lo rico que estaba!!! La mejor carne que he comido en Australia!!! Gracias Raúl, fue un asado INCREIBLE!!!


I am sure that all people enjoy very much the dinner and the meeting. It was an excellent night. Even the moon was so beautiful. A big full moon! And a Blue Moon too. Do you know what a Blue Moon is? Estoy segura que todo el mundo disfrutó un montón la comida y la junta. Fue una noche excelente. Incluso la luna estaba preciosa. Una gran luna llena! Y también Blue Moon. Saben lo que es Blue Moon? How you can look, I had eaten a lot the last time… so, I gain “some” weight. Now I can’t wear some t-shirts, because they are too tightening to my body. You won’t recognize me when I will be back in Chile. Only look my cheeks, my face is very big. So I try to avoid complete body pictures and wear dark clothes. But sorry, while I am in Australia I won’t do diet!!! Welcome fries, chocolates and coffee with cream. OK maybe some fruit…

Como pueden ver, he estado comiendo demasiado el último tiempo… así es que he subido “un poco” de peso. Ahora no puedo usar algunas poleras, porque me quedan demasiado apretadas. No me van a reconocer cuando vuelva a Chile. Sólo miren mis cachetes, mi cara está gigante. Por eso trato de evitar las fotos cuerpo entero y uso colores oscuros. Pero lo siento, mientras esté en Australia no haré dieta!!! Bienvenidas papas fritas, chocolates y café con crema. Está bien, quizás un poco de fruta…

LAST SWEDISH STARBUCKS

The Swede journey finished the last Sunday. Of course, we chose The Starbucks to drink the last koala coffee and said “good bye”. We stayed there all Saturday afternoon-evening. You can imagine that koala mode was present!
We had a lovely time, but it is sad when people returned home…
You met so many people, but you know that maybe you will never see again. Fortunately we have MSN and mail, that allow you connect with people around the world.

El viaje de los suecos terminó el domingo pasado. Por supuesto, elegimos el Starbucks para tomar el último koala café y decir “chao”. Estuvimos ahí toda la tarde del sábado. Podrán imaginarse que el modo koala estuvo presente!
Lo pasamos muy bien, pero es triste cuando la gente vuelve a su casa…
Uno conoce mucha gente, pero sabe que quizás nunca más la vas a volver a ver. Por suerte ahora tenemos MSN y mail, que te permite conectarte con la gente alrededor del mundo.

MEXICAN FROZEN FOOD

On Friday we went to Oxford Street to eat Mexican food. But we had a little problem… nobody booked a dinner table and we were 10 people! There were people from Brazil, Mexico, Korea, Spain, Belgium and me from Chile.

El viernes fuimos a Oxford Street a comer comida Mejicana. Pero tuvimos un pequeño problema… nadie reservó una mesa para la comida y éramos 10 personas! Había gente de Brasil, Méjico, Corea, España, Bélgica y yo de Chile.

We decided to wait, because really wanted to eat in this place. While we wait an available table, we stayed outside. However, here it is winter too, so we began to transformer in penguin… the heater wasn´t enough, because the wind was very cold.

Decidimos esperar, porque realmente queríamos comer ahí. Mientas esperábamos que se desocupe una mesa, estuvimos afuera. Sin embargo, acá también es invierno, así es que nos empezamos a convertir en pingüinos… la estufa no era suficiente, porque el viento era demasiado helado.

Finally, we had a table inside and the night was wonderful. We ate a lot of excellent Mexican food; even the Mexican people said that. Burritos, enchiladas, tacos… all that you can imagine.

Finalmente, conseguimos una mesa adentro y la noche estuvo increíble. Comimos un montón de excelente comida mejicana, incluso los mejicanos dijeron eso. Burritos, enchiladas, tacos… todo lo que se les ocurra.

VEGEMITE EPISODE

All the time we play the same game. We are UNO addicts!
The last weekend the koala friends came to our residence and with other home mates we played UNO. It was so funny, because when you lost you might have a stupid dare. For example, you need to show a talent.

Todo el tiempo jugamos el mismo juego. Somos adictos al UNO!
El fin de semana pasado los amigos-koala vinieron a nuestra residencia y con otros compañeros de casa jugamos UNO. Estuvo muy entretenido, porque cuando perdías tenías que hacer una penitencia estúpida. Por ejemplo, tenías que mostrar un talento.

We sang songs (the koala guys sing very, very well), red poems and danced, so relax. But when was Johan’s turn, Marie had a great idea! Here some people eat a strange product called VEGEMITE (If you want to learn about it, click here http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegemite). We don’t know what is it? Look like nutella, but if you smell it you can imagine a too bad flavor. I am not enough brave to try it.

Cantamos canciones (los hombres koala cantan super bien), leímos poemas y bailamos, muy relajado. Pero cuando fue el turno de Johan, Marie tuvo una excelente idea! Acá algunas personas comen una cosa rara que se llama VEGAMITE (si quieren aprender de éste, vean aquí http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegemite). No tenemos idea qué es? Parece nutella, pero si lo hueles te puedes imaginar un sabor pésimo. Yo no soy lo suficientemente valiente para probarlo.

I had seen two foreign people who were tried it and both almost throw up later. It was so funny to us look their faces. The victims were Sebastian from Colombia in Saberio’s birthday (we put a little spoon in his cake piece) and Johan the last Saturday. I have excellent videos about these situations. When I go back to Chile you can enjoy their. The most strange is that some Aussies like it!

He visto dos extranjeros que lo han probado y ambos casi vomitan después. Es demasiado divertido ver sus caras. Las víctimas fueron Sebastián de Colombia en el cumpleaños de Saberlo (le pusimos una cucharada en su pedazo de torta) y Johan el sábado pasado. Tengo excelentes videos. Cuando vuelva a Chile los van a poder disfrutar. Lo más raro es que a algunos australianos les gusta!
