SOME MISTAKES - ALGUNOS ERRORES

Do you remember my first mass?
When I went to the church the first Sunday, I told you that the mass was really different than in Chile.
But the second time that I went, just in the moment when I was entering, I identified something strange. Yea! There was a “woman priest”.
So, I began to check and I found a poster where appeared the timetable of Anglican’s Church.
Moral: If you travel to another country, check that you go to the right church!

Se acuerdan de mi primera misa?
Cuando fui a la iglesia el primer domingo, les conté que la misa fue muy distinta a las de Chile.
Pero la segunda vez que fui, justo cuando iba a entrar, identifiqué algo extraño. Sí! Había un “sacerdote mujer”.
Así es que empecé a revisar y encontré un cartel donde aparecía el horario de la Iglesia Anglicana.

Moraleja: Si viajas a otro país, revisa que vas a la iglesia correcta!

Do you like milk?
I like it so much. However, we sometimes don’t have milk in the residence. So, I decided to buy my own milk box in the supermarket. Today was raining and we were really cold, so I decided to prepare hot chocolate for Marie and me. Very good idea! But while I prepared it, I felt a strange smell. And when we tasted it, we understood that anything happened. The flavor was like chicken soup! Really.
The problem was that I bought soymilk. I didn’t know that, I only knew the cow milk...

Moral: If you buy food in another country, read completely the products package.

Te gusta la leche?
A mí me encanta (sí, igual que Fernando González, yo tomo! tomo leche!). Sin embargo, a veces no tenemos leche en la residencia. Así es que decidí comprar mi propia caja de leche en el supermercado.
Hoy estaba lloviendo y estábamos realmente muertas de frío, por eso decidí preparar chocolate caliente para mí y la Marie. Super buena idea! Pero mientras lo preparaba, sentí un olor extraño. Cuando lo probamos, entendimos que algo pasaba. El sabor era como sopa de pollo! En serio.
El problema fue que compré leche de soya. Yo no la conocía, sólo conocía la leche de vaca...

Moraleja: Si compras comida en otro país, lee completamente el envase de los productos.

Transport system.
It is very important in our life, you know it. And every country has different systems. Here, I think that is good, but in the news paper I had red that people is unhappy, because sometimes has delays. Well, for me is good, but its complex.
Obviously in the beginning I didn’t know that some trains have limited stop (don’t stop in our station), sometimes I had get wrong the train platform, twice I took other line… and once I traveled with a wrong ticket.

Sistema de transporte.
Es muy importante en nuestras vidas, ustedes saben. Y cada país tiene sistemas distintos. Acá, yo pienso que es bueno, pero en los diarios he leído que la gente no está contenta, porque a veces hay atrasos. Bueno, para mí está bien, pero es complejo.
Obviamente al principio no sabía que algunos trenes tienen paradas limitadas (no paran en nuestra estación), a veces me he equivocado de plataforma, un par de veces tomé otra línea… y una vez viajé con el ticket incorrecto.

Moral: If you will go to live to another country, ask about the best ticket and the difference with another, verify the platform where you must wait and finally check the screens that show the train stop.

These are only a little sample of mistakes… of course I have a lot of stories…

Moraleja; Si vas a vivir en otro país, pregunta sobre el mejor ticket y la diferencia con los otros, verifica la plataforma donde debes esperar y finalmente revisa las pantallas que muestran las paradas del tren.

Esto es sólo una pequeña muestra de errores… por supuesto que tengo un montón de historias…
